Have you ever had a weird or uncomfortable experience that just made you want to do something about it?

I’ve seen people go through good and bad experiences all the time. Every time I ask my clients what their experience was when working with me, I get a general statement like this:

“She was so caring, so attentive, so focused and made me feel right at home.”

I take all kinds of testimonials and experiences into consideration, both the good and the bad because I find them to be extremely helpful. The safety, comfort and overall experience of my work is a very high priority for me.

I want the person I’m collaborating with to know that they are in good hands.

Regardless if they are an experienced artist, high fashion model or just an average Joe. I know that if I am hired to take an image of someone, they are having a stranger point a camera in their face in the hopes that the image looks amazing. It can be scary and nerve wrecking. One of the reasons how I know this myself is because I use to be a model.

Yepp, I said it – I was a model:

Modeling

According to the fashion world, I was considered a plus size model because of my hips and I thought that was pretty awesome!

I modeled for photographers to enhance their portfolio and for designers who needed models to show their new clothing line. Some photo sessions I did just to build my portfolio and meet new people. This was around the same time where I just started my own photography business. I’ve met a lot of amazing creatives when I was modeling and learned a thing or two about the business of digital photography.

Then I encountered a photographer who made the shoot a little too uncomfortable.

I modeled for a photographer that asked me to take my top off. I told them that I wouldn’t do it because it made me very uncomfortable. Although they said that it was okay, the entire shoot the photographer kept asking me to take my top off. I was so uncomfortable and it made me feel that the photographer didn’t care if I was in a comfortable state, they just wanted the photo! And I lost all trust! Safe to say I didn’t have a good experience and ended up walking out of the shoot. I stopped modeling because that experienced taught me something I never knew. it occurred to me that

Photographers who make their clients uncomfortable makes all photographers look bad!

My modeling experience gave me such a brighter perspective on what the person in front of the camera is actually feeling. I know the feeling and because I experienced it first hand, I make sure that every session is taken with care, consideration, and kindness.

I want to make sure YOU know you are in good hands, and with me you will always be in good hands. Because you deserve it!

Now it’s your time to shine!!
